: County Superintendent
: 55

I care passionately about serving Kern County students, increasing achievement across all grade levels and ensuring all students go to college and/or end up in a career of their choice. Kern County needs strong educational leadership committed to raising the bar and dedicated to educational success, and I am honored to currently serve as your County Superintendent of Schools. My love of education started as a student and was fueled when I became a third-grade teacher and later a District Superintendent. As the founder of a local Family Resource Center, I learned the value of working in partnership with others to address critical needs in the community. I have worked at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools since 2009 in a variety of roles that have uniquely prepared me to lead our County Office of Education. I am involved with statewide education organizations shaping education policy and I collaborate with the leaders of Kern's 47 school districts to prepare students for lifelong success. Having served as County Superintendent for the past year, I am constantly inspired about the positive impact that education has on families, and I would welcome the opportunity to continue my leadership for the next four years.

: Kern County-Assessor-Recorder
: 59

Since January 2015, I have been honored to serve as Kern County Assessor-Recorder. Though these recent years have been characterized by budget cuts and staff reductions for the Assessor's Office, and far-reaching legislative and judicial changes for the Recorder, both offices have adapted and adjusted, at the same time improving efficiency and public service. The Assessor's Office has accomplished a new record for work review, while reducing the number of outstanding assessment appeals by over 4,000, and the Recorder's Office has continued as a leader in efficiency, and innovation.

In 2014, I ran for office based on my record in the Kern County Assessor's Office. I'm proud, in 2018, to stand with my staff on our record of fairness, accuracy, efficiency and commitment to public service. I ask for your vote in hopes of continuing that commitment.

: Incumbent

The Kern County Auditor-Controller-County Clerk is the County's chief accounting officer, providing accounting, audit, and payroll services to county departments; providing property tax administration services to county government, cities, school districts, and special districts; and serving as the fiscal watchdog for Kern County taxpayers. The office also handles the duties of County Clerk and Registrar of Voters.

As your Auditor-Controller-County Clerk, I have provided the Board of Supervisors with objective financial management and analysis. By auditing County departments and monitoring County expenditures, I have promoted integrity and accountability in County government while encouraging innovation in County departments. If re-elected, I will protect the interests of the citizens of Kern County and continue to encourage the most efficient use of taxpayer resources.

On June 5th I would be honored to have your vote.

: Incumbent

As the incumbent Kern County Treasurer-Tax Collector, I have diligently carried out my duties to collect property taxes equitably and fairly. I have focused on efficiency and customer service and have safeguarded and invested public funds in the County Treasury. Through prudent investing and conservative cash management, I have earned tens of millions of dollars in investment income each year that has been allocated back to the County, schools and special districts so those entities can have additional resources to carry out their vital public service missions. Transparency and customer service are a key focus of mine in both the tax collection and investment operations and all of my financial reports, investment reports, investment policies, tax collection policies and tax collection information are posted on the Treasurer-Tax Collector website. During my first term, my office has undergone various process improvement projects utilizing innovative technology enhancements and outsourcing opportunities to streamline processes which has saved taxpayer money. It is my honor to serve the citizens of Kern County and I humbly request your vote to continue to serve as your Kern County Treasurer-Tax Collector.
